Miller is a wonderful example of the “versatile” GSP and made the perfect girl for me to get involved in the breed with. She is extremely high drive in the field, but has a wonderful off-switch in the house. If I could describe her like an enneagram, she’d be a 6: “the Loyalist.” Miller is unwaveringly loyal to her family and does not like to be alone. She will give 110% to anything you ask of her and thrives off of just praise as a reward. She is also very food motivated, but not very toy motivated. She is the happiest being around her people and does not like to be left out. Miller is extremely neutral around other dogs and people, but prefers to associate with her own pack only if she has a choice. She was shown in AKC as a puppy, earning 6 conformation points. She is currently being shown in UKC, but she much prefers her birds and performance sports. Miller drives hard in the field and would run until her heart stopped if you let her. She has a very flashy style of hunting and is a joy to hunt alongside. She prefers to hunt far out, but is steady on birds through the flush. She ran with the NAVHDA Carolinas Chapter in 2023 earning a perfect score of 112 and a Prize 1 in the Natural Ability test. She is currently training to run AKC Junior Hunter in the Fall. Miller is also heavily involved in dock diving and absolutely loves water. She also loves her scent work games and we are currently working toward her NACSW NW1. In the house, Miller is a snuggly and loving family companion. She much prefers to be all the way under the blanket at your feet when she sleeps and is too good to lay down in the floor. Her entire body will be pressed up against you, and it still isn’t good enough. She will try to get closer. She fully embodies the term “velcro dog.” Her favorite toy is the tennis ball and favorite hobby is trying to get into the trash. Miller is an absolute joy to work with and to live with. Everyone who has ever met her adores her.
