Miller is a wonderful example of the versatile GSP and has been the perfect dog to introduce me to the breed. She’s incredibly high-drive in the field, yet settles beautifully at home with an excellent off-switch. If I could describe her with an enneagram type, she’d be a 6—“The Loyalist.” Miller is deeply devoted to her family and dislikes being alone. She gives 110% to anything asked of her and very food motivated.
Her happiest moments are spent close to her people—she hates being left out and insists on being part of the action. While she remains extremely neutral around other dogs and strangers, she much prefers the company of her own pack when given the choice.
Miller was shown in AKC as a puppy, earning 6 conformation points, and is currently being exhibited in UKC. That said, her true passions lie in birds and performance sports. In the field, she drives hard and hunts with a bold, flashy style—always giving her all. She naturally hunts wide but remains steady through the flush, making her a joy to run behind.
In 2023, she earned a perfect score of 112 and a Prize 1 in the NAVHDA Natural Ability test with the Carolinas Chapter. She’s now preparing for AKC Senior Hunter test. Outside of the field, Miller excels in dock diving and adores the water. She’s also very enthusiastic about scent work, and we’re currently working toward her NACSW NW1 title.
At home, Miller is the epitome of a loving, velcro dog. She insists on sleeping completely under the blanket—preferably pressed against you, and somehow, even that isn’t close enough. She’s not one to lie on the floor when a lap or foot is available.
Her favorite toy is a tennis ball, and her most mischievous hobby is trying to sneak into the trash.
Miller is an absolute joy—whether working or simply being part of the family. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her instantly.
